Where could you fit in?
This is a newly created role at JM where you will have the opportunity to shape the JM narrative and implement our very first audience-lead digital marketing strategy to fuel acquisition and growth. We’ve been around for 17 years (with studios in Australia and the United States) flying under the radar, and while our clients and friends love us, we’re ready to let the rest of the world in on the secret, too.
So why now, you ask? We’re growing at an unprecedented rate and have so much to talk about; everything from the benefits of venture-as-a-service to the future of agtech, the latest in fintech to the future of sextech, when you need venture, brand, content, product—or all four. We’re motivated to find a Senior Brand & Communications strategist to support us in our efforts to streamline new business development, blending brand strategy, content development and marketing execution to meet goals that you will help establish and evangelize
As a community strategist passionate about impact, innovation and entrepreneurial pursuits, your primary role will be to support the development of and drive execution of the JM brand growth strategy specifically targeting capital managers, entrepreneurs, startups and funded early stage ventures. You will develop the global brand content strategy across the JM group working in collaboration with brand, product and venture designers, product, developers, content, creative technologists, motion designers and business development personnel to build foundational brand assets as the stewardship of the JM brand.
This position is a contributor team lead role with access to social media, design and content support. But don’t worry, we’ve earmarked your first future hire as a social media manager to support you once you hit the ground running. Experience in scaling a new marketing function within the studio will be highly desirable.

This is a full time position that offers a competitive salary, equity and flexible working hours. We prefer this position to be based in LA or Brisbane but are open to fully remote applicants who can align with Brisbane (AEST) and LA (PST) time zones.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve worked on at JM? There's honestly too many to pick from! We're lucky enough to be the go to venture studio for audacious Founders and companies that are looking to solve some really challenging problems; whether that be exploring inclusivity in sextech, envisioning energy for the decentralised grid, or gamifying education to promote entrepreneurship in students to name a few.
How long have you been in the industry for? Over a decade now wearing different hats from a Brand Strategist, to a CMO, to a consultant & now sitting on the commercial side of the table as a Strategic Partnerships Manager.
What’s the best thing about working at JM? There's not many other companies out there where on a daily basis you get to play in so many different sandpits. I can start the day working on a Fintech project and end the day I've spent time Sportstech, Agtech & Proptech.
What’s the worst thing about working at JM? Working on the river at the Powerhouse in Brisbane. Someone's gotta do it I guess, ha..
What’s something people might not know about being a Head of Delivery at JM? We're quite multidisciplinary having all come from different professional backgrounds in former lives which makes for really diverse perspectives and robust conversations.
What advice do you have for anyone looking to do what you do? Be curious about everything and fall in love with understanding problems holistically.
