About the Team

JM is made up of designers, developers, strategists, writers, storytellers, shapers, and technologists. We are a mission-driven team looking to build the future we want to see. Our studios work collaboratively across Australia (Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast) and Los Angeles.

Where could you fit in?

As Brand Lead, your mission will be to deliver and lead boundary-pushing work that inspires others, internal and external to JM. You can do it with ease, speed and deliver on time, within budget and to a high standard. You will be Josephmark's brand champion, advocating for brand across clients, ventures and JM overall.

You're a fiend of all things visual identity and brand strategy and understand what it takes to create beautiful and usable digital experiences. You can lead and execute work independently but know how to direct, inspire and collaborate with others. You're excited for a challenge, working across numerous verticals for both enterprise clients and early-stage startups. This means you can easily oscillate between 'minimum viable brands' to deeper brand strategy. You know the difference between good and great work, and can articulate your vision in persuasive ways.

In this role you will:

  • Create work that challenges the status quo and makes people think differently about what's possible
  • Lead large brand strategy and identity projects, confidently and supportively
  • Nurture, mentor and coach younger talent so that they can grow and thrive
  • Create work that has impact – achieving both internal and external recognition or praise from clients, users, and the industry
  • Work harmoniously, collaboratively and effectively with others – knowing the perfect time when to delegate and when to get in there and do it yourself
  • Present and communicate effectively and persuasively to both clients and teams
  • Help shape estimates and proposals, advocating and ensuring sufficient time and processes are in place for branding projects

You should have:

  • 5+ years brand design experience
  • a world-class portfolio showcasing your branding, visual design and brand strategy chops
  • the ability to design for UI and digital applications
  • a strong sense of style and aesthetics, with an eye for detail
  • the capability to be both a leader and a collaborator
  • a strong ability to communicate and persuade with ease to teams and clients
  • a curious and perceptive mind
  • the ability to connect and empathise with others
