About the Team

JM is made up of designers, developers, strategists, writers, storytellers, shapers, and technologists. We are a mission-driven team looking to build the future we want to see. Our studios work collaboratively across Australia (Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast) and Los Angeles.

Where could you fit in?

As a B2B Brand Marketing Lead, your mission will be to design, own and deliver Josephmark’s brand, communications and marketing strategy - building awareness, community and engagement amongst our target audience of startups, capital managers, entrepreneurs and funded early-stage ventures. You will be Josephmark’s brand custodian across the full marketing mix: PR, media relations, social and content, sponsorships and partnerships.

In this role you will:

  • Design and implement Josephmark’s brand, communications and marketing strategy to build brand awareness and drive leads to our new business pipeline
  • Own all Josephmark’s external comms, balancing both strategic decision making and execution as you’ll often be crafting the narrative yourself
  • Manage the content production cycle, coordinating whatever you need to bring your content strategy pillars to life and optimising content for all channels and devices
  • Lead our media relations, establishing a Josephmark-appropriate network of press contacts and media outlets
  • Build and engage our social community

You should have:

  • Significant experience (6+ years) in strategic marketing, communications and brand building
  • An understanding of the tech and venture industries landscape, and established relationships within these ecosystems (advantageous but not essential)
  • The ability to think strategically, problem-solve creatively and execute with a love for detail – balancing both brand and commercial objectives
  • A passion for verbal and visual storytelling with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A highly collaborative style, a venture mindset and a willingness to muck in

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve worked on at JM? There's honestly too many to pick from! We're lucky enough to be the go to venture studio for audacious Founders and companies that are looking to solve some really challenging problems; whether that be exploring inclusivity in sextech, envisioning energy for the decentralised grid, or gamifying education to promote entrepreneurship in students to name a few.

How long have you been in the industry for? Over a decade now wearing different hats from a Brand Strategist, to a CMO, to a consultant & now sitting on the commercial side of the table as a Strategic Partnerships Manager.

What’s the best thing about working at JM? There's not many other companies out there where on a daily basis you get to play in so many different sandpits. I can start the day working on a Fintech project and end the day I've spent time Sportstech, Agtech & Proptech.

What’s the worst thing about working at JM? Working on the river at the Powerhouse in Brisbane. Someone's gotta do it I guess, ha..

What’s something people might not know about being a Head of Delivery at JM? We're quite multidisciplinary having all come from different professional backgrounds in former lives which makes for really diverse perspectives and robust conversations.

What advice do you have for anyone looking to do what you do? Be curious about everything and fall in love with understanding problems holistically.
