We believe a better future happens by design, not chance.

At the intersection of cutting-edge technology and strategic design, Josephmark craft digital experiences that anticipate future trends and position our partners at the forefront of their industries. From re-imagining Myspace for 100 million users and crafting Bruce Springsteen's digital home, to partnering with fintech, agtech, space exploration, and mental-health innovators—we turn impactful ideas into products that resonate deeply.

Why this role exists

We’ve got fresh, ambitious projects in the pipeline, so we’re scaling our Product Design team to deliver exceptional work. As a Mid or Senior Product Designer, you’ll raise the bar for beautiful, intentional, and accessible user experiences across exciting digital products—shaping ideas from early concepts through to polished execution.

We are open to fully remote applicants within Australia who can align with BNE (AEST) timezones. This is a fixed-term contract for two months with the possibility for extension.

What you'll be doing

  • Craft with care. Bring a high level of precision to interaction, layout, motion and visual polish to deliver experiences that are refined and considered.
  • Ideate & execute. Lead design processes end-to-end—from defining features, wireframing, and prototyping to executing visually compelling UX/UI.
  • Design for scale. Contribute to the creation and evolution of scalable design systems that drive consistency, efficiency and cohesion across products and teams.
  • Collaborate & innovate. Work hand-in-hand with designers, product managers, strategists, developers and clients, balancing technical requirements, business objectives, and design excellence.
  • User-centered design. Conduct user testing and interviews, translating insights into accessible and intuitive design solutions.
  • Present & advocate. Clearly articulate your vision and rationale, presenting confidently to clients and internal teams alike.

You'll thrive here if...

  • You’ve got a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional UX skills and award-caliber visual design, highlighting versatility across product categories.
  • You’ve got agency experience, know how to navigate commercial realities, context switch, and deliver high-quality work at pace.
  • You’re confident running end-to-end design processes—from concept and prototyping through to polished execution.
  • You have a consultative, collaborative approach—you listen actively, articulate ideas clearly, and enjoy co-creating solutions with clients and colleagues.
  • You're meticulous about detail and take pride in thoroughly reviewing your work and guiding others to deliver excellence.
  • You’re highly organised, keeping digital assets tidy and discoverable in Figma.
  • You’re passionate about design trends, emerging technology, and innovative digital experiences.

How to make your application stand out

Keep it real. No cookie-cutter cover letters please. We value clear, authentic communication. Show us your curiosity, your craft, and your point of view.

Jay Van Deurse, Designer

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve worked on at JM? One of the first projects I worked on still shines as one of my favourites. EarthOffset (now Monty) is combatting the climate crisis with a solution that’s accessible for everyone: composting. It allowed me to get my hands dirty (pun most definitely intended) testing and improving my strategic and design thinking. Plus, Monty were absolute gems to work with – truly inspiring to see their drive to change the world.

How long have you been in the industry for? I’m closing in on my first anniversary as an official designer. However, I have worked in the startup space for the last three years. Wearing many hats as a founder, I soon realised that the design hat was the one I loved to wear the most. I decided to dive into my passion and build those skills.

What’s the best thing about working at JM? High performance and support. Everyone’s super talented, but no one has an ego. If you need help, time or advice, you will receive it. It makes being a junior rewarding, as you can pick brains and get support from the best. Plus, work is a lot easier when you genuinely enjoy the company of the people beside you (even if that’s remotely).

What’s the worst thing about working at JM? The fast-paced nature of our work can take its toll, but that’s the industry and that’s why we love it. When feeling the burn, it’s great to remember that the team around you are always there. Team retreats are the perfect way to unwind and remind us of why we do this!

What’s something people might not know about being a designer at JM? You get to delve into so much more than just design. Over the past year I’ve had the chance be a strategist, a marketer, a motion designer, a UI and UX designer and even a developer (…even if very basic).

What advice do you have for anyone looking to kick off their design career? Immerse yourself. Keep heading to places and sites that inspire you and think about what makes it appealing to. Experiment with your own work and be critical to see how you could improve it.
